Giving

The New Testament is full of commands that we are to take care of those in need and references the support of those who preach the gospel. There is no one specific way of giving or tithing commanded, nor is a specific amount prescribed. The apostle Paul simply reminds Christians to give generously and not reluctantly. (II Corinthians 9:6-9) We choose to follow the model given in I Corinthians 16:1-2 and provide a scheduled opportunity for the members of our church family to collectively contribute financially each week to maintain the work done by our congregation. We don’t demand or expect any defined level of tithing. There is, also, no expectation or obligation for guests in our assemblies to contribute, but they are welcome to do so, if they desire. Also, we encourage all followers of Christ to help provide for the needs of others or individually perform good works done outside of those done by our congregation. All giving done in the name of Jesus glorifies God.
